Privacy Policy

Fluente is a language-learning app made by Dillon Trembath. This policy says what the app keeps about you, why, who helps run it, and how to delete it. In short: Fluente keeps what it needs to save your decks and progress, never sells it, and shows no ads.
What Fluente Keeps
- Your account. The app starts you on an anonymous account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, it keeps the account identifier and the email address they share (with Apple, that can be a private relay address); with Google, also the name and profile picture link Google shares.
- What you make and study. The languages and dialects you pick, your decks and cards, your study settings, and the history of your reviews (which card, right or wrong, when).
- A few settings. Your native language, and your timezone so a day and a streak end at your midnight.
- Your plan. Whether you have Fluente Pro, and how many new cards you’ve made today (the free plan’s daily limit). Payments are handled by Apple; Fluente never sees your card or bank details.
Some things stay on your phone and never reach Fluente: reviews waiting to be uploaded, your Learn tab settings, and the language you last picked. Spoken audio is made on your phone by its built-in voices.
Who Helps Run Fluente
- Supabase hosts the database and accounts.
- Google writes card content: when you use Fill In or Generate, or when a card gets its reading, Google’s Gemini API receives the card’s text, your deck’s language, dialect and translation language, and for Generate the topic and level you pick plus the words your deck already teaches (so it doesn’t repeat them). Google also runs Sign In with Google.
- Apple runs Sign In with Apple and the App Store, which takes payments.
- RevenueCat keeps track of subscriptions, using your Fluente account id.
They handle your data only to provide their part of Fluente. Fluente doesn’t sell your data, doesn’t use it for advertising, and doesn’t track you across other apps or websites.
Deleting Your Data
In the app, go to Account and tap Delete Account. Your account, decks, cards and history are deleted from Fluente’s database right away and can’t be recovered. Copies held elsewhere go on their own schedules: database backups, RevenueCat’s record of your subscription, and what the providers above keep under their own terms. To cancel a subscription, use your Apple Account’s subscription settings; deleting your account doesn’t cancel it.
Anonymous accounts that haven’t been used for 30 days and have no decks are deleted automatically.
Your Choices
You can ask to see, export, correct or delete what Fluente keeps about you by writing to the address below; most of it you can also change or delete in the app. Fluente uses your data to provide the app you asked for, and the providers above process it on Fluente’s behalf. Like any online service, they also keep short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect it. If you think your data has been mishandled, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Fluente isn’t meant for children under 13, and doesn’t knowingly keep their data. If you think a child has an account, write to us and it will be deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Big changes will be mentioned in the app.
